Doctors Arun.S and Anand.C are visiting Nalunnakkal Theeram Centre and is monitoring
selected trainees at Theeram as part of their programme to enrich the intellectual efficiency
of the mentally challenged. They will visit one centre on a monthly basis.
Medical Camp for Disability Certificate
Vakathanam Panchayath level medical camp for issuing of Disability certificate was conducted
by Social Welfare Mission in collaboration with Theeram at St.Elias U.P School Nalunnakkal on
September 29, 2010. Disability level Medical Board examined and issued the Medical Certificates
on the Spot itself. 490 Certificates were issued.
YWCA Thiruvalla graciously donated a Sewing Machine
to the tailoring Unit of Theeram, Nalunnakkal 12.08.2010

45th Birth Day of our Dear Thirumeni
45th Birthday of our beloved Founder and Chairman H.G.Dr.Geevarghese Mor Coorilos was celebrated
with the Trainees of Theeram on November 17, 2009 at our Nalunnakkal Center.
Kannan of Madappally Centre welcomed and Sophiamol of Kurichy Centre honored him with flowers.
The celebration was hallowed with the presence of Thirumeni’s Parents.
Thirumeni expressed his immense joy to be with the children to share their love and affection on the Birthday.
Trainees expressed their affection through variety entertainments.

Alappad Theeram Centre Anniversary January 26, 2009


Theeram center and geriatric center Alappad celebrated its 2nd anniversary on January 26, 2009.
More than 300 people from the local fishermen community gathered over there.
Mr.Rajadas (Alappad Panchayath President) inaugurated the program.
ICSC director Dr.Kuriakose Corepiscopa Moolayil briefed the activities of Theeram.
Mr. Nakulan S, Mr.Shibu Palanikutty, Ms.Sobhana Mohan,
Mr.A Raju, Mr.Solomon Netto and Mr. Stephan Netto felicitated.

Alathur Theeram centre Anniversary May 21, 2009


Alathur Theeram centre celebrated its 4th anniversary on May 21, 2009 at A4 Auditorium Alathur,
Perinkulam Panchayath President Mr.T Rajan presided over the public meeting.
ICSC chairman Dr.Geevarghese Mor Coorilos gave the key note address.
He stated that the main streaming of mentally challenged persons in our society.
This will help them to keep their dignity and self esteem. We can assure social justice and welfare to the less privileged.
ICSC director Dr.Kuriakose Corepiscopa Moolayil, Sarvodaya District President Mr. R Rajan,
Solidarity District President Mr.P.S Aboo Fysal, and Rev. Sister Mercy felicitated.
Cultural program led by Theeram kalavedi was inaugurated by Alathur Munisif Mr.C.R Dinesh.
Theeram coordinator Mr.Reghu extended vote of thanks.
Visit of Archbishop Mor Theethose Yeldo
H.G.Mor Theethose Yeldo visited Theeram head quarters and Alappad Theeram center on May 22, 2009.
The staffs and Trainees of Theeram gave him a hearty welcome.
He offered the continued support of the US archdiocese for Theeram activities at the Tsunami rehabilitation centres at Alappad,
Kollam. H.G. Mor Coorilose extended thanks to the archdiocese and its archbishop for implementing their
Tsunami relief works through ICSC.
Family Get-together held at Cheemeni

The Theeram family get together at Cheemeni, Kasargod was inaugurated by ICSC chairman Dr.Geevarghese Mor Coorilose
on June 18 at the Theeram centre.
Parents association President Mr.K Raghavan presided.
Representatives from the Panchayath and friends of Theeram joined the gathering.

New Year Greetings We wish all a blessed New Year
2009 New Year gifts were distributed to all the Trainees of Theeram Centers and members of the ‘ Pakal Veed Alappad’
( Tsunami Rehabilitation Center).
A pair of dress (Pants and shirt for boys, Churidar set for girls, Set Mundu and Saree for the elderly women)
were sponsored by the friends of Theeram, Kuwait Chapter. H.G Dr. Geevarghese Mor Coorilos inaugurated the distribution at Alappad.
We, the Theeram family expresses our thanks to all the members of Friends of Theeram, Kuwait and else where.
We also remember with thanks a few donors from USA whose wanted to be anonymous.
A family at Mazhuvely also supported this cause.
Some young kids in Kuwait arranged a carol visiting and campaigned for Theeram cause.
The Staff members of Theeram also arranged carol visiting at a few places.
We thank all those who graciously received and supported Theeram during Christmas-
New Year season. All donations are acknowledged with receipts as usual.

World Disability Day
2008 December 3
World disability Day was commemorated at district level in Kottayam under the auspicious of District Welfare Board.
The inaugural session was chaired by the District collector P.Venugopal I.A.S and the celebration
was inaugurated by K.V Sugunan, President, Kottayam District Panchayath.
The speakers urged the public to be aware of the social responsibility to supplement the needs
of the disabled and the challenged.
“We have the responsibility to fulfill our duties for them.
It’s their right and is our duty to be with them and for them”, the district collector reminded the audience.
About 1500 special students and trainees from
schools and training centers attended the function with their parents and trainees.
Trainees of Theeram centers in the district attended and our
Kala team performed a group dance. The performers received
prizes from the district authorities. Theeram representatives were also invited to the organizing committee.

Theeram Fest 2008 was celebrated at the community Hall of Nattakam
Panchayath On August (, 2008. The Foundation stone of the Residential
Block at Pallam was unveiled by Adv. K Sureshkurup M.P.
H.G.Geevarghese Mor Coorilos Metropolitan presided.

Sat Bhavana Anniversarry (17 August 2007)
Theeram Kalavedi was invited for an hour stage program on the occasion of sixth
Anniversary of the Sat Bhavana Cultural Group, Kollakadavu, Mavelikkara.
The performers of our artists were cheerfully welcomed by the audience.
'Theeram Pakalveedu' (Center for the Elderly) in Alappadu Inaugurated
India Center for Social Change has opened a Day Care home for the elderly
in Alappadu village on July 1st, 2008.
Among the affected by the Tsunami, the elderly are one of the most severely affected.
ICSC had done surveys among
them and felt the need to open centers where the old people can come and relax.

ICSC Coordinator Aniaynkunju welcomed the gathering.
Alappad Panchayath President Sri. G.Rajadas inaugurated

Nearly 40 elderly persons attended the function. Eswari Amma, Sundari Amma and Yesodha Amma
rendered melodious traditional and folk songs. Ward Member Shri. Shibu Palanikutty
(who also entertained the crowd with a beutiful classical number),

Sri.Abhilash T.R, representative of the Alappad’s youth,

A Group Painting Show at Kerala Lalita Kala Academy Art Gallery,Kottayam on May 18 – 21, 2008
The exhibition uniquely brings together the dynamic expressions of five young artists in Kerala today.
Their works with remarkable dexterity and diversity light up the lesser visible and the darker aspects of collective life that are often excluded and omitted in mainstream visual representation.
They also enact struggles of resistance and survival while exploring the emancipating possibilities in space, texture, colour and shades

ICSC Chairman Dr.Geevarghese Mor Coorilos at Gallery
Theeram Kala Vedi was invited to perform a stage programme at the 28th state meeting of the Kerala State Disabled Association held on 4 May 2008 at Basalius College, Kottayam
Hon. Minister for P.W.D.Adv. Monse Joseph inaugurated the meeting. Social Justice Forum Chairman Abdul Nasar Madni was the chief guest of the event. This opportunity helped Theeram trainees to get attention in mainstream.

Theeram Trainees and Staffs at hill Palace, Ernakulam
In April 2008 ICSC organized a picnic for the trainees of all Theeram Centres in different locations. The picnic helped the trainees to refresh their mind, body and health.
Kasargod, Kayyur-Cheemeni Theeram centre organized the outing program to Bakel Court and Bekal beach on 9th April.
Madappally, Kurichy, Puthuppallly and Karukachal Centres organized a combined tour program to Ernakulam, Marin Drive, Fort Cochi, Trippunithura Hill Palace and Alappuzha beach on April 11. The boating was memorable for all participants

Kozhencherry Theeram trainees went to Alappad beach on April 19 and they joined with Alappad Theeram trainees to visit Tsunami places.
Alappad Theeram arranged a tour program on April 21 at Thiruvananthapuram and the children enjoyed the famous places like Zoo, Musem and Sankumughkom Beach.


Kayyur- Cheemeni Grama Panchayath extends Support to Theeram Center
23 March 2008


Kayyur -Cheemeni ‘Theeram Center’ is crossing 10 months. We had undergone several vicissitudes, but we have brrn able to cater to the needs of 12 mentally challenged individuals. We are greatly indebted to the continued support of Ajay Thymannil and family for sustaining this noble work.
Kayyur -Cheemeni Grama Panchayath included Theeram Center in their Social Welfare and self support scheme and has handed over a Cheque for Rs.28,800 to ICSC as an annual subsidy for transportation expense of the Theeram trainees. They also gave personal support to 8 of our trainees worth Rs.2400/- each. The Cheque was handed over in a meeting at Theeram center. Mr.Raghavan, representative of the parents presided and Mrs.K.Sakunthala handed over Rs. 28,800 to Mr.Shashi Memury (ICSC Development coordinator) and she also distributed the Cheque to the trainees.
The meeting was attended by the parents and Theearm staffs members. Mr.Babu Thoomban, center coordinator welcomed the gathering. ICDS supervisor Mrs.V.Sarasamma felicitated and Shashi Memury extended vote of thanks.
Theeram Group in Index 2008 , Kottayam
Theeram Kala Vedi was invited for a one hour stage program at the All India Industrial – Trade fair, ‘ Index 2008 ’ at Mammen Mappillai Hall, Kottayam on 21 February 2008. Theeram Kalavedi performed a one hour fete including Cinematic dance, Folk dance, Fancy dress, Mimics, Solo, etc.
The wonderful stage performances, overcoming their physical-mental disabilities, were warmly welcomed by the public and the organizers of Index 2008. We express our thanks to the organizers for inviting Theeram Kala Vedi to participate in the index 2008

National Service Scheme Volunteers from Sree Ayyappa Devaswam Board College, Eramallikkara, Pathanamthitta district hosted a 1 hour program of the Theeram Cultural Team on 27 December 2007. Eramallikkara village came to support Theeram with 3 bags of rice and a donation of Rs-2000/-.
